Investment sentiment has always been a key focus in our business strategy across the globe. We, at J.P. Morgan Asset Management, endeavor to fill a vital gap in the current Indian investment scenario, by providing scientific, research-driven sentiment indicators that would be captured in an index.
On that note, we are pleased to have successfully launched the J.P. Morgan Asset Management - ValueNotes Investment Confidence Index, India’s first Investment Confidence Index that captures the sentiment of investors and advisors across the country.
The survey took place in eight cities across India: Delhi/NCR, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Pune. Investors and advisors rated their confidence on various pre-defined parameters.
ValueNotes, an independent market research company, was commissioned to conduct the Indian survey, which will be published quarterly. Going forward, the survey will map and analyse short-term and long-term changes in investment behaviour and outlook every quarter, from an investor and distributor standpoint.
J.P. Morgan Asset Management's first Investor Confidence Index was launched in the U.K. in the early 1990s, followed by similar indices in other European countries as well as Hong Kong, Japan and Taiwan.
